Seafood Dinner at Lau Fau Shan

Cantonese cuisine from Hong Kong is world famous. Seafood, in particular, is a must for locals and travellers. I have therefore decided to kick off my Hong Kong food blog by a seafood dinner which I had recently at Lau Fau Shan.

Dinner date: October 20, 2007
Occasion: To celebrate my niece's graduation
Number of People: Seven
Cost: HK$1,650, no service charge (voluntary tipping)
Restaurant name: can't remember
Anna's comment: All restaurants at Lau Fau Shan are of economic style. Good value for money, but not recommended for those looking for 5-star eating environment and service. You can do shopping along the main street (mind the wet floor) and pick your life seafood from the tanks.

Stir Fried Garoupa Meat 石班兩味 - 炒球
Stir Fried Clams 炒聖子
Prawns with Salt and Red Chilli 椒盐中蝦
Deep Fried Garoupa Bones and Head 石班兩味-炸頭腩
Lobsters with Noodle Base 龍蝦伊面
My Personal Half Lobster
My Favourite Chicken Wings
Fish Soup, Stir Fried Vegetable (no photo)

More Sights from Lau Fau Shan
Swimming prawns in a tank
Life seafood in tanks

Hello, I just happened to come by your site. It's wonderful...the food looks great. I'm planning a trip and wonder if you recommend going to 流浮山 or Lei Yue Mun for seafood.

I personally don't fond of Lau Fau Shan because most of the restaurants there are of less favourable eating environments. Among all the seafood areas in Hong Kong, I like Lamma Island the most. When you click on 'seafood' label on my blog, you'll see photos there. Very good environment, good seafood and the island is also good for an outing, especially now in autumn days.
